MALAGA COMMERCE COLLECTIVE

A stronger voice for local business.

We bring business experience into the conversation about Malaga’s future, with a focus on practical issues and constructive representation.

From individual experience to shared priorities

An awkward delivery route, a recurring lighting issue or a planning change can affect a business well beyond its immediate location. Understanding how an issue is experienced across the precinct helps build a clearer picture of its business impact.

The Collective’s objects provide for a unified voice on security, lighting, transport, communications, infrastructure, planning, amenity, environmental matters and other local business-related issues.

Infrastructure that supports the working day

Businesses depend on reliable access and a precinct that functions well. Our purpose includes advocacy for freight, logistics and transport infrastructure, alongside streetscape, signage, parking and other improvements relevant to owners, workers and visitors.

A business perspective on local planning

The constitution’s objects include active engagement with the City of Swan’s Local Area Planning process for Malaga. Local operators can contribute valuable detail about how the precinct is used and where improvements could make the greatest practical difference.

Constructive and independent

Our representative role is non-political and non-sectarian. We seek dialogue with local, state and federal government, business organisations and relevant agencies, keeping the discussion focused on business needs and the long-term interests of the precinct.

Help explain the issue

A useful contribution describes the location, frequency and effect of a problem, who it impacts and what a better outcome could look like. Specific examples help distinguish an isolated incident from a shared concern and make a conversation more productive.

Representation creates a way to raise and discuss issues; decisions and delivery remain with the organisations responsible for them.
